One of the best first chapters of a book I've ever read. It made me mad, sad, scared, and broke my heart. I don't think it gives anything away when I say there is a bit that comes around full circle toward the end from that first chapter and it just gave me chills.

I really "got" Ryan which made me love him pretty quickly. I also had a lot of understanding for what Paige was going through, although her stubbornness got made me a bit weary as the book went on. So many other things about her I loved so I could forgive some of her bullheaded thoughts.

What I didn't like was what this particular story turned one of my favorite characters into. I loved Ted in the first book but was very disappointed with some of his attitude in this book. While I could understand where it was coming from, there came a certain point that I just wanted to tell him to grow up and get over it. I think he was actually told that by one of the characters, I can't remember who though.

I would have also liked to see Aunt Jenny a bit more, but what we saw of her was great. She had her wonderfully enigmatic and pragmatic advise just like the first time.

The next (last?) book is Ted's story, so I'm hoping he'll redeem himself a bit in my eyes.

The Difference a Day Makes Perfect Indiana Book 2 edition by Barbara Longley Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

I gave this book a four star rating because it lacked an epilogue however I would recommend this book to all romantic readers because it had all the elements of a very good read.
This book was just great. About soldiers w/PTSD. U will never look at veterans the same again. Good story line, just makes u wish all soldiers w/this problem had a happy ending. I never before understood the problem as it was portrayed in book. U have to read it & help soldiers families whenever u can. Don't get me wrong, it was a great story also. Good author. I am looking forward to reading rest of series!
I was afraid Ms. Longley would not be able to top the first book in her Perfect series, but I was wrong. This book has everything a classic romance should have. It made you laugh, brought a few tears, and pulled at your heartstrings. I love the writing style of this author so very much. When I find a book that I can hardly put down and then, if I do, can't stop thinking about it, I latch onto anything that author writes. Such is the case in these two books of the series.

Cannot wait until October to get the third installment of the Perfect Indiana series!
So much honest content in this second book of the three part series that my reaction is Whoa! Trying to live up to perceived standards. Trying to cope with PTSD. Trying to find your place in life. Even if none of these issues sound familiar, you must read this brilliantly written book. It does stand alone without having read the others, but I recommend reading each one.
I will read anything by Barbara Longley after reading the Perfect, Indiana books. Wonderful love stories with vulnerable and realistic characters. They're written well, and the stories flow well together. There is no big falling-out, or obstacle the characters have to overcome 2/3 of the way through the story, beyond coming to grips with their emotional and mental issues and blocks, and I appreciate that. They are simple love stories with a powerful message of overcoming mental illness in veterans, which is a subject near and dear to my heart, so I love the healing that occurs in this series. I've heard she's writing a fourth one, and it will be insta-buy for me!! She's on my list of blind purchase authors, for sure!!
There are few books or series that I can say I couldn't put down. All 4 of these books were amazing--mainly because the stories were about veterans and their challenges getting back to a normal life.
I truly enjoyed this book. I read it in two sittings, and at this price point was ready to search for more from this author rather than sit and bemoan the waste of my money, an unfortunately frequent occurrence. Langley gave me just enough real world - soldiers returning from combat with ugly problems, inadequacy addressed by an often ungrateful country- without asking me to solve the problems. After all I'm just a poor slob trying to escape reality for a little while in my book, with a new author I've found. Luckily, Longley solves all the problems. A combat tested therapist. A patriotic rodeo audience (shocking!!). Sex (more shocking!!!) ....and voila..... road to recovery. Altogether, a great read. I'm buying the first one that I missed and pre- ordering the next.
P.S. Somebody buy the editor some new reading glasses.
